Roto Brewery to Open New BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai Location on March 19
Kanagawa-based Roto Brewery announced in a March 10 post that it will open a new store, "RotoBrewery Tap & Kitchen BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai," inside the commercial facility "BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai" on March 19. The tap lineup will consist of six taps, with the possibility of expanding to seven, and the venue will also offer drinks other than beer and food.
According to Roto Brewery's Instagram post, March 19 will mark the opening of "RotoBrewery Tap & Kitchen BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai." The new location will be inside the commercial complex "BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai" in the Kannai area of Yokohama.
Because of the available interior space, the draft service will be based on six taps, while also noting the possibility of expanding to seven taps depending on operations. While maintaining the context of a craft beer specialty shop, the plan suggests a venue with a broader range of offerings.
On the food side, the post introduced "Yasai Pork Curry (extra meat)" as a lunch menu item. It also previewed a meat-heavy lineup including "bear liver and garlic chives," "ostrich raw liver," and "buffalo chicken." In addition, photos of whiskey and rum bottles were posted, indicating that drinks other than beer, including liqueurs, are also planned.
For Roto Brewery, which is based in Kanagawa, this new local outpost looks like a move to connect brewery-born craft beer with everyday dining. The key point will be whether the shop becomes a place that is easy to use not only for beer seekers, but also for lunch and meals in general.
