Tokyo-based NUMBER 6 in Koamicho, Nihonbashi, unveiled its new bottle arrivals and the day’s tap list in a March 21 post. True to its beer-pub style in the Ningyocho area, the announcement not only encourages guests to enjoy a slow drink inside, but also suggests taking cans home to enjoy later.
Two New Bottles from Nara Brewing
This round of bottle arrivals comes from Nara Brewing (Nara). Their Märzen Rauchbier "SUN" is introduced as a beer with a distinct smoky aroma that still doesn’t feel too heavy, layered with the bitter sweetness derived from crystal malt. The other bottle, "UNDERWATER:LUMINOUS", is a sake yeast beer made with sake yeast, brewing water, and soyashi water, designed to emphasize bright tartness and moderate carbonation. A comparison tasting with the barrel-linked "UNDERWATER" is also recommended, making it easy to notice how the two beers differ even within the same family.
Today’s Tap List
Six characterful beers were on tap that day.
- Otama Brewing (Niigata) "Harumachi" - Hazy IPA
- Devil Craft Brewery (Tokyo) "Devil's Death Match!" - West Coast IPA
- Yamamoto Beer (Kochi) "MIDNIGHT ECHO" - XPA w/ Coffee
- CHORYO (Nara) "White Koji Saison BAILEY A POMACE" - Japanese Saison w/ Wine Pomace
- Passific Brewing (Kanagawa) "Lacid" - Dark Sour Ale w/ Lemongrass
- Nara Brewing (Nara) "UNDERWATER" - Sake Yeast Beer
From hop-forward IPAs to an XPA brewed with coffee, and beers using white koji, wine pomace, lemongrass, and sake yeast, the lineup spans a wide range of aromas, acidity, and bitterness. Because one place can take you across multiple styles, it is easy to build a session from a light first pour to a side-by-side tasting.
The post also announced upcoming events: April 18’s "Minamishinshu TTO / Jr. × ITO chan W BIRTHDAY BASH," April 25’s "Sake Tasting Walk 2026," May 23 and 30’s "NUMBER 6 7th Anniversary!!," and June 20’s "ACE Birthday Celebration." Along with the new beers, this is a place worth following for its event schedule as well.
