MATSURI BREWING introduced Uchu Brewing's `COSMIC WHALE` this time. It is a collaboration beer with New York's Finback Brewery, styled as a `DDH IPA` with an alcohol content of `8.5%`. In the post, they explained that while discussing it with the Finback team, they blended hops from around the world to express a complex aroma.

The hops used are American Citra, Mosaic, and Meridian, Australian Eclipse, and New Zealand Nelson Sauvin. By layering hops from different origins and with different aromatic characters, the beer is designed to evoke impressions of pineapple, citrus, and mango. Tasting notes also mentioned aromas like orange and mango, along with a smooth drinking experience.

MATSURI BREWING is a microbrewery in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. On its official website, it promotes craft beer that is somehow nostalgic and highly drinkable, inspired by special celebratory days, and it offers staples such as `Banzai Red Ale`, `Nadeshiko Brut IPA`, and its festival IPA series. At its brewpub in Urayasu, in addition to eight taps of house-brewed draft beer, it also serves bottles selected from breweries in Japan and overseas, and introducing these imported and guest bottles is part of the fun of the shop.

This `COSMIC WHALE` is a beer that draws attention less to flashy appearances and more to how layers of hop character are built through overlapping aromas. While it has the brightness typical of a DDH IPA, the fruit character is clearly defined, making it an intriguing choice for anyone looking for a hop-forward IPA.
