Hop BroIt’s at UNLOCK BREW BASE, a craft-beer spot in Kasukabe. On November 1, they’ll feature Okate Farm from Matsubushi with vegetable dishes and produce for sale.
MugiOoh! What makes that farm special? Is it different from a typical farm?
Hop BroAlong the Edo River, they grow vegetables without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, using things like rice bran and oyster shells in a microbe-friendly growing method.
MugiMicrobes?! Are tiny veggie cheerleaders underground yelling, ‘Grow, grow, grow!’?
Hop BroThat’s honestly not far off! Microbes help cycle nutrients through the soil and create a better place for vegetables to grow—a real team effort in the soil.
MugiI want to applaud the soil before I even eat! And dining or produce shopping is welcome, so it’s easy to drop by.
Hop BroIt runs from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with last orders at 7:30. No specific beer name or style is announced, but the craft beer and food pairing should be fun.
MugiThen I’m asking for a beer that matches the veggie dishes—and taking vegetables home too! Where beer meets the farm sounds like a perfect reason to toast!
