On June 23, Beerbar Festa Shimokitazawa posted the day's tap lineup: 11 beers in all, covering Japanese, house, and imported selections. The bar opens at 6 p.m., with a 1 a.m. last call on weekdays, and its casual setup near Shimokitazawa Station works well for both solo drinking and longer stays.

Today's lineup

Domestic

- Setouchi "Apricot Weizen" [NEW]
- Nomcraft "No War"
- Minoh "Kozaru IPA"
- T.Y. Harbor "Kanpai West Coast Pilsner"
- Hansharo Beer "Coco Farm & Winery White" ※almost gone
- Regular beer "Heartland"

Imported

- Knee Deep "Folsom Haze"
- Left Hand "Milk Stout"
- DDC! "Petite Morale"
- DDC! "Rosee d'Hibiscus"
- Threes "Fool's Errand"

The new "Apricot Weizen" is an approachable first pour, with a fruit-forward impression. If you want sharper bitterness, "Kozaru IPA" and "Kanpai West Coast Pilsner" are the obvious anchors. On the imported side, the lineup ranges from hazy "Folsom Haze" and stouty "Milk Stout" to two Dieu Du Ciel! beers, giving drinkers a broad spectrum from easy-drinking to full-bodied.

Food is part of the draw too, with house-made sausages and other dishes that make it easy to stay for a second round. With the bar's anniversary events just having wrapped up, this looks like a good night to work through the taps one by one.
