Repubrew's anniversary beer lands at HOP MAN

At HOP MAN, a beer pub in Jomanzaka, Chigasaki, Kanagawa, Repubrew's WHOLE HOP CITRA "BLUES" has been tapped. The beer is based on a recipe that won first place in last year's REPUBREW'S CUP, a contest held for the brewery's 8th anniversary, and it was designed around the character of whole hops.

Flavor profile

According to the brewer's tasting note, the beer pours a pale gold. The aroma is centered on floral and herbal notes with a faint citrus layer underneath. On the palate, malt character comes through clearly, while the body finishes very dry. Bitterness stays restrained, letting the floral aroma lift the beer rather than overpower it.

A lingering finish

This is not the kind of beer that relies on big, flashy hop punch. Instead, it leaves a light tannic edge in the finish and a calm, tea-like aftertaste. That steady, lingering impression fits the "BLUES" name well and gives the beer a thoughtful, nuanced profile.

Food pairing

The post suggests pâté de campagne as a pairing. The beer's dryness and herbal lift should work well with the richness and savory depth of the dish, making it a solid option for a food-friendly pint. For drinkers looking for a guest beer in Chigasaki, this is one to watch at HOP MAN.
