A West Coast IPA shaped by Yujin’s world

FETISH CLUB introduced “ESPER,” a collaboration with artist Yujin, on September 25. The beer is a 6.0% West Coast IPA described as one of the brewery’s continuing signature styles. Its concept brings together Yujin’s artistic world—evoking the uncertainty of youth, anticipation of freedom, and a lingering sense of melancholy—with FETISH CLUB’s approach to craft beer.

The brewery describes ESPER as having a clear flavor and aroma, bright fruit-like character, a lightly bitter finish, and a refreshing overall impression. Listed hop aromas include grapefruit, passion fruit, pineapple, citrus, pear, peach, and banana. The tasting profile rates fruitiness at four out of five and aroma at five, while sweetness and bitterness are kept relatively low. That balance suggests a beer focused on expressive hop fragrance without becoming overly sweet or heavy.

From Kudamatsu brewing to Tokyo beer bars

FETISH CLUB presents itself as “Japan Craft Beer & Culture.” Its brewery is located in Kudamatsu, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and the brewery also operates a Tokyo brewery in Shibadaimon, Minato-ku. ESPER reflects that broader connection between beer and culture, pairing a recognizable FETISH CLUB IPA profile with Yujin’s visual expression.

The post identifies FETISH CLUB Azabu-Juban in Motoazabu, Tokyo, as a location for the beer. The venue offers house-brewed craft beer as well as more than 30 domestic beers on tap and in bottles. Drinkers can look for a combination of citrus and tropical-fruit aromas, a clean palate, and a gentle bitterness while taking in the collaboration artwork.
