Tobu Utsunomiya Department Store is currently hosting “Tochigi Craft Beer,” a showcase of 29 items from nine breweries across Tochigi Prefecture. The selection centers on bottled and canned beers, ranging from core labels to distinctive limited releases, giving shoppers a compact view of the region’s craft beer scene.

One of the participating breweries is 808 Brewery, based in Oyama City. The brewery was started by Sun Foods, a company rooted in produce and grain distribution, and it has focused on brewing with local resources and Oyama-grown ingredients. Its official site describes it as the first brewery in the southern Tochigi area, with beers such as Oyam Ale, 808 ESB, and 808 IPA in the lineup.

Brewery staff will join the sales floor on August 29 and 30, and tastings are planned on those days. Customers who buy eligible products will also receive an original sticker from the Tochigi Craft Beer Cooperative. It is a straightforward chance to compare what each Tochigi brewery is making right now, in one department-store setting.
