Festival-tied notice

RONDIN Brewery shared on Instagram that it will head to Matsue on August 1 and that it will be closed on August 1 and 2 because of Matsue Suigosai, a major summer tradition in the city. The post also noted that those two days are likely to be especially busy around the shop and wished festivalgoers a good time.

A Yasugi brewery built around local ingredients

RONDIN Brewery opened in 2024 in Arashima, Yasugi. The brewery focuses on using agricultural ingredients from the San-in region and brews with a method known as Iwami-style brewing. Its lineup includes beers such as Toma-Sapiens, made with plenty of homegrown tomatoes, Arajima Red, a red ale made with local Kameji rice, and a light ale brewed with fresh sake lees from the local sake brand Gassan and brewing water.

Where beer meets a summer festival

Matsue Suigosai is one of Shimane’s signature summer events, drawing large crowds to the lakeside city for fireworks and related programs. For a brewery based in neighboring Yasugi, the timing highlights how local beer culture and regional festivals often overlap in the summer. It is a small but telling example of how craft beer travels with the rhythms of local life.
