At MOKICHI KAMAKURA, an herb planting experience was held as part of the herb garden project. The herbs planted this time will be used in Shonan Beer’s "Kamakura Herb Saison," scheduled for release in July, and will also add color to the food and drinks served at the restaurant.

The venue, MOKICHI KAMAKURA, is a brick building renovated from the former Kanagawa Prefectural Kamakura Pressure Pump Station. In contrast to its stately, classic exterior, the interior is modern and open, offering a relaxed time that feels quintessentially Kamakura. There is an herb garden on the property, and one of the restaurant’s hallmarks is making use of ingredients grown there in its dishes.

On the beer side, the standard Shonan Beer lineup includes Pilsner, Alt, Schwarz, Golden Ale, and IPA American Style, and seasonal Shonan Beer and seasonal premium Shonan Beer are also available. The herb-linked "Kamakura Herb Saison" looks set to be the one that best matches the restaurant’s atmosphere.

The post also announced that the next event, in April, will be a siphon herbal tea-making session. The piece conveyed how MOKICHI KAMAKURA is distinctive in its approach of connecting not only food and drink, but also the experience of growing them from the very beginning.
