Quartet Brewing, based in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, has shared information on its official Instagram concerning Aldea Yamashiro Beers, a craft beer brand from southern Kyoto.

Aldea Yamashiro Beers produces beers inspired by the local character of the Yamashiro region. Drawing on experience with craft beer culture in California, the brand incorporates regional ingredients such as tea leaves and seasonal fruit into its beers. Its lineup has included a Gyokuro Session IPA, Kyobancha Porter, Hojicha Amber Ale, and a hazy IPA made with white peaches.

The brewery’s beers focus on expressing the aroma and character of local ingredients while connecting beer with the region’s food and culture. Several of its tea- and fruit-based beers have also received recognition in domestic and international beer competitions.

Quartet Brewing, meanwhile, brews in Karuizawa, surrounded by the forests and cool climate of Nagano. The introduction brings together two brewing projects rooted in distinct regions: Yamashiro in Kyoto and Karuizawa in Nagano. It will be interesting to see how local tea, fruit, and brewing ideas from the two areas might meet in future beers.

At the time of publication, details such as the beer style, release timing, and places of sale have not been announced. Beer fans should follow the official channels of Quartet Brewing and Aldea Yamashiro Beers for updates.
