Craft Ale Chigira in Kiryu, Gunma has introduced Cloud Nine Dog, the debut beer from newcomer brewer GB. The 5.5% Hazy IPA is described as having grapefruit-like citrus aroma and a slightly thick, smooth mouthfeel.
Craft Ale Chigira is based in Niisato-cho, Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. The brewery obtained its brewing license in June 2024 and began selling beer in August 2024. Its lineup is built around American malt and hops, with a focus on hop bitterness and citrus-driven aroma.
The newly introduced beer, Cloud Nine Dog, is the debut release from newcomer brewer GB. In the post, the brewery explains that “Cloud Nine” refers to a state of happiness or being on top of the world, and positions the beer as something to enjoy on a sunny day, perhaps in a garden or park with close friends and loved ones.
The beer is a Hazy IPA with an ABV of 5.5%. Craft Ale Chigira says it balances drinkability with a slightly thick, soft mouthfeel. The aroma is led by fresh grapefruit-like citrus notes, while the finish is described as sweet and juicy, with a dessert-like impression.
Craft Ale Chigira operates as a small brewery with a hands-on approach, and its beers are shaped by careful ingredient selection and attention to flavor. In that context, Cloud Nine Dog stands out as a debut that adds a new brewer’s voice while staying aligned with the brewery’s hop-forward style.
