CraftBeerSpot Hathor taps Kind of Gold from Shiga Kogen, Dogfish Head, and Oxbow
The Osaka-Kyobashi beer pub shared its July 11 draft lineup, led by Kind of Gold from Shiga Kogen Beer, Dogfish Head, and Oxbow. The 16-tap board also spans lagers, a white beer, hazy and West Coast IPAs, and a black beer.
Featured pour
The standout of the day is `Kind of Gold`, a collaboration from Shiga Kogen Beer, Dogfish Head, and Oxbow. Brewed earlier this year, it uses Carolina Gold rice and Edisto Gold Honey, with a hop bill that shares two American hops with `Sono Jyu`, then adds a special New Zealand hop and homegrown Cascade. The shop describes it as citrusy like hassaku, dry and hop-forward, but also softer and rounder than `Sono Jyu`.
What else is pouring
The recommended section also lists `Another Cut` from Isekadoya Beer x VERTERE and `Broken Record` from Embolden. `Another Cut` is a Hazy IPA with selected Strata and Vera hops, leaning toward ripe guava, banana, and peach. `Broken Record` is a classic-leaning West Coast IPA built around Nelson and Mosaic.
The rest of the board is broad: lagers (`Jukusen`, `First Lager`, `Helles`), a white beer (`UME-CHU`), pale ale and other ales (`Pale Ale Real Ale Ver`, `Sage`), a fruit beer (`Totonoimashita! Yuzucchi`), four more IPAs (`Kind of Gold`, `Broken Record`, `Double C DDH DIPA`, `Another Cut`), and `Velvet Merkin 2017` in the black-beer slot. With 16 taps and house-smoked food, Hathor remains a strong stop for drinkers who like to compare styles side by side in Kyobashi.
