KBL THE GARAGE announced its new release on Instagram: Abbey Ale. The post introduces it as "New Released Beer Now On Tap," announcing that it is now available on tap.
Beer Specs
- Style: Belgian-Style Tripel
- ABV: 9.5%
- IBU: 31
- Price: Half 900 yen / Pint 1,300 yen
The flavor is described as a balance of raisin-like malt sweetness, spiciness from Abbey Belgian Ale yeast, fruity aromas reminiscent of ripe banana and pear, and a moderate bitterness. It is designed to deliver the full-bodied drinkability expected of a high-alcohol Tripel.
In the Context of KBL THE GARAGE
KBL THE GARAGE opened in the Umekoji area of Kyoto in April 2024 as the second location of Kyoto Beer Lab. Kyoto Beer Lab has been brewing and operating a taproom in Kyoto since 2018, and is also known for its "CHABEER" series made with tea leaves from Wazuka Town. This Abbey Ale can be seen as a beer that shows the brewery's style expansion beyond tea beers, in line with its "Brewing \"Unexpected\"" philosophy.
A small number of cans are said to be available, so it would be wise to check early along with the tap offering.
