REVO BREWING to Tap Two Beers Made with Kanagawa University Hops
REVO BREWING, a brewpub in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai area, will begin serving two beers made with hops grown through Kanagawa University’s hop cultivation project on October 1. The beers were brewed with hops harvested at the university’s Yokohama and Minato Mirai campuses, with recipes developed through student tasting and feedback.
Two beers made with student-grown hops
REVO BREWING is collaborating with Kanagawa University’s hop cultivation project to brew two special beers. The project combines rooftop greening and efforts to address the urban heat-island effect with agricultural experiences in the city and opportunities to connect with the local community.
The beers use hops cultivated and harvested separately at the university’s Yokohama and Minato Mirai campuses. Students participated in tasting and recipe discussions, helping shape the final beers.
Ale Now 2026
Made with hops from the Yokohama Campus, Ale Now 2026 is a 5.0% White Pale. Pilsner malt brings a clean profile, while wheat adds softness. Wakatu hops contribute fresh aromatics and fruity notes, and restrained bitterness makes this a highly approachable, drinkable beer.
Blazing Cool Saison
Using hops from the Minato Mirai Campus, Blazing Cool Saison is a 5.5% Rye Saison. Inspired by REVO BREWING’s regular beer SMALL TRIP, it uses rye malt and coriander to add a gentle spicy edge. Fruity yeast character leads the profile, supported by a light body and a dry, spicy finish.
Located on the first floor of APA Hotel & Resort Yokohama Bay Tower on Kaigan-dori, REVO BREWING is a brewpub with its own brewing facilities. Guests can enjoy beers brewed on site while discovering a university-led local project. Service starts October 1, offering an opportunity to compare how hops from the two campuses shape each beer.
