Kyoto's Fushimi brewpub Yamori-do will host its 7th anniversary event, "7 anniversary week," from June 9 to 14. In keeping with the shop, which has operated around the themes of Japanese tea and craft beer in a Kyoto machiya over 150 years old, the anniversary program also combines beer, food, and music.

Throughout the event, limited pairing dishes matched to the seven house beers will be offered every day, and a "Shichifuku lottery" featuring seven different prizes will also be held. In addition, an original cooler bag will be sold in limited quantities as anniversary merchandise. Each of these is a special anniversary-only offering, and it looks like there will be plenty to enjoy, from tasting beers side by side inside the shop to picking out souvenirs.

Special weekend plans are also on the schedule. On Friday, a live performance by "Busker Music Sadanori Shimabukuro" will be held from 19:00. It should be an evening where you can spend time with music and beer together. On Saturday, a single-cask real ale will be tapped, and the beer on offer will be "Afternoon Stout." The style is Oatmeal Coffee Stout, and the ABV is 5.5%. It has been designed as a beer to be savored slowly, like coffee, and its pairing with the limited food prepared for the anniversary will also draw attention.

Yamori-do is a brewpub that blends naturally into the streetscape of Fushimi, connecting meals, craft beer, and Japanese tea with ease. Reservations are recommended for parties of three or more, and the shop is closed on Mondays. The second week of June looks set to be an anniversary week where you can enjoy everything from your first drink to your last in Fushimi.
