ISEKADO to Standardize Pale Ale Starting with April Shipments; Bottle and Keg Versions to Become Separate Products
Ise Kadoya Beer (ISEKADO) announced in a March 25, 2026 post that it will revise the recipe operation for its Pale Ale, which has been sold under the same name. From April shipments onward, the can and bottle/keg recipes will be unified, and the existing bottle/keg recipe will be spun off as "Classic Pale Ale."
From Ise Kadoya Beer's Kagami Factory in Mie, a change in the operation of one of its core brands has come to light.
According to the company, ISEKADO's "Pale Ale" had until now used different recipes for cans and for bottles/kegs. The background to this was that when the canned beer launched in 2021, the company designed a can-only recipe in order to deliver the best possible flavor while maintaining quality even in ambient-temperature distribution. Through subsequent improvements, the contents of the cans and those of the bottles/kegs had come to differ significantly.
In this announcement, the company explained that it would unify the recipe from the April shipments onward in order to resolve the situation in which the same product name was being used for different contents. At the same time, the long-familiar existing bottle/keg recipe will not be discontinued; instead, it will be spun off as "Classic Pale Ale."
ISEKADO has long emphasized in its official information a brand background that traces its roots back to 1575, its craft beer brewing since 1997, and its record of awards in international competitions. That stance of advancing tradition and updates at the same time is strongly reflected in this decision as well. For drinkers, this sounds like news that not only brings greater clarity to the standard Pale Ale's flavor profile, but also increases the opportunity to choose the older recipe on a separate track.
