An event announcement has been made for "Tokachi Craft Makers Night," a talk and networking event featuring three Tokachi drink makers. The venue is LAND at 12-1 Nishi 2-jo Minami 11-chome, Obihiro City. The event will be held on March 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. (reception from 5:30 p.m.). Capacity is limited to 40 people by advance reservation only, and the application deadline is March 14 (or until capacity is reached). Participants must be 20 years of age or older, and the fee is 3,000 yen, which includes drinks from the three companies and paired dishes.

The program on the day will consist of:

- Part 1: Panel discussion, "Creating Tokachi's Drink Culture - Makers' Challenges and Outlook -"
- Part 2: Networking session (60 minutes)

During the networking session, time will be set aside for direct conversation with the speakers, and pairing dishes prepared by "Kobito no Daidokoro" from Ashoro Town will be served. Bottle sales from each maker are also planned in limited quantities.

The speakers are RIKKA from Urahoro Town, a beer maker; BLANK HARD CIDER WORKS from Ashoro Town, a cider maker; and Tokachi Plain Distillery from Makubetsu Town, a gin producer. The defining feature of the event is that makers of different types of alcoholic beverages will speak at the same table.

RIKKA operates as an organic craft beer brand from Hokkaido. The brand name comes from "rikka," another name for snow, and it promotes the idea of "expanding connections among people and communities through craft beer." It has also focused on bottle sales in order to reduce packaging waste and emphasize beer to be enjoyed in places where people gather, making it a natural fit for this kind of dialogue-based event.

The event is drawing attention as an opportunity not only to "drink" Tokachi's beverage culture, but also to "learn" it through the words of its makers.
