The event is scheduled to run from noon until 9 p.m. Eight breweries from Wakayama and other parts of Japan are expected to take part, offering visitors the chance to enjoy a wide range of craft beers alongside food. For Heiwa Craft, the event will also provide an opportunity to serve its beers directly to drinkers in its home prefecture.
Heiwa Craft is produced by Heiwa Shuzo, a sake brewery founded in Kainan in 1928. Known for sake such as KID and liqueurs including Tsurume, the brewery expanded into craft beer production in 2012. It obtained a beer manufacturing license in 2014 and began selling beer under the Heiwa Craft name in 2016.
The brewery uses soft groundwater from the Kishi River, which originates near Mount Koya, as its brewing water. Its beer program combines conventional brewing practices with fermentation knowledge developed through sake production. The lineup includes Pale Ale, White Ale, IPA, Red Ale, Porter and Sour Ale, as well as beers featuring local ingredients such as Japanese pepper.
