On Tap

At the beer pub HOP TAP SHOP in Miyawaki-cho, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, the collaboration beer "Citrus Monster Seema-kun" involving Mie-based Himitsu Beer and AL BEER STAND in Hida Takayama will be on tap. In an Instagram post, it was explained that a visit from AL BEER STAND led to the opportunity to tap their collaboration beer at HOP TAP SHOP as well.

What Kind of Beer Is It?

"Citrus Monster Seema-kun" is a juicy IPA made with plenty of hassaku juice and peel. The post also mentioned that the collar of a cherry salmon they had caught was grilled and used in the brew, highlighting the playful spirit and hands-on feel that are so characteristic of Himitsu Beer. As for the flavor profile, it is designed with citrus notes reminiscent of hassaku, grapefruit, and mandarin oranges, layered with hints of berries, white peach, and a subtle grape-like nuance. The sweetness of the body and the bitterness from the hassaku bring the finish together.

The Appeal of Drinking It at HOP TAP SHOP

HOP TAP SHOP is a beer pub where you can mainly enjoy draft beer, so it is a place where the appeal of guest beers comes through clearly. Beers like this collaboration change character as their aroma opens up and the temperature shifts, making it one to savor slowly in a glass. By bringing together the brightness of citrus and the unexpected ingredient of cherry salmon, it leaves an impression different from a simple fruit IPA.
