New Product "HIDDEMON"

Betokoko Brewing in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, announced the release of its new batch "HIDDEMON" on Instagram. Canned sales will begin on April 30.

"Hiddemon" is a Fukui dialect word meaning "very" or "extremely." By using a local expression directly as the beer name, the brewery has given it a distinctly regional feel.

The beer style is IPA. Its specs are ABV 7.5% and IBU 114, making it a beer designed to clearly showcase bitterness. It uses Pale Ale and Crystal malts, and the hops include Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Simcoe, Strata, and Simcoe Cryo.

According to the brewery's description, the bitterness blends into the malt body, followed by impressions of pine, dankness, and bitterness, finishing with a crisp aftertaste. Awara City is also a place in Fukui known for Awara Onsen, and this new release, which layers the area's name and dialect together, is a straightforward expression of Betokoko Brewing's character.
