The harvested hops lead straight to a pint

Golden Rabbit Beer, brewed in Higashiderabayashi-cho, Nara City, is announcing its 2026 "Fresh Hop Harvest Experience." The brewery is a community-based brewery that brews beneath the taproom in Naramachi, with a focus on craft beer made with Nara ingredients.

This year's harvest experience is the fifth. It will be held twice, on Saturday, June 27, from 10:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 5, from 10:00 a.m. to around 1:00 p.m., with about 10 participants expected each day. The meeting place is Golden Rabbit Beer. Participants will harvest hops in the hop field, and this year's fresh hop beer will be brewed using hops picked that day.

The special thing about this project is that the experience does not end there. Beer made with the harvested hops will be completed later, and participants can enjoy one free glass of the finished beer. On the day, after hop harvesting, two kinds of beer and light snacks will also be provided, making it a relaxed outing where you can enjoy a drink in the field.

Participation fee is 6,000 yen per adult (tax included) and 1,500 yen per child (tax included). What to bring: clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty, a hat, towel, work gloves, scissors, drinks, insect repellent spray, and heatstroke-prevention items. The event will be canceled in the event of heavy rain, and will proceed if only light rain falls.

This event, which connects harvesting, brewing, and the finished pint in Nara, seems like an opportunity to experience the seasonal charm unique to fresh hops. Reservations are accepted through the application form.
