Canal brewing unveils eight limited beers at its first Tap Take Over
Canal brewing reported on Instagram that it has held its first Tap Take Over and shared the tap list from the day. The lineup included house beers plus collaborations with Bar FUKURO, CAMADO BREWERY, Cycad Brewing, and others.
Canal brewing, located in Oimachi, Shinagawa, Tokyo, posted about its first Tap Take Over on Instagram. In the caption, the brewery also explained that it does not operate its own brewing equipment, so it has built its beer program through collaborations with many breweries over time. This event brought that approach together in one tap list.
The lineup featured eight beers. Two house beers were served: `C` and `C w/pineapple`. The rest showed the breadth of Canal brewing's collaboration network.
- `C` / IPA
- `C w/pineapple` / IPA w/ Pineapple
- `Oldnew Downtown` / West Coast Lager with Yuzu
- `Daylight Moon` / Fruit Ale
- `Midnight Sun` / Hoppy Citrus Saison
- `EMERIUM KOLSCH` / Special Kolsch
- `try` / Scottish Ale
- `ピーナッツバターポー太郎 ~Nitro ver~` / Flavored Porter
The collaboration partners were equally varied. `Oldnew Downtown` came from Canal brewing, Suehiro-yu, and GRANDLINE BREWING. `Daylight Moon` paired Bar FUKURO with Egret Brewery. `Midnight Sun` paired Bar FUKURO with CAMADO BREWERY. `EMERIUM KOLSCH` was a joint beer with FARMENTRY and Bar FUKURO. `try` was brewed with CAMADO BREWERY, and `ピーナッツバターポー太郎 ~Nitro ver~` was made with Cycad Brewing.
With IPA, fruit ale, saison, kolsch, Scottish ale, and a flavored porter all in one place, the list offered a clear snapshot of what Canal brewing does best: connecting different breweries and styles through collaboration. The post also mentioned upcoming events on August 25 and September 19.
