Kyoto brewery CRAFT BANK has reissued a tasting set centered on the second batch of its original beer, Himitsu Bank. The set is priced at JPY 2,000 including tax and includes one bottle of Himitsu Bank. and one bottle of the brewery’s standard BANK IPA. On the online store, customers must log in before they can add the item to their cart, and sales are limited to one set per person.

Himitsu Bank. was created with the support of CRAFT BANK for Himitsu Kichi., a project shaped by Ugajin and Rentaro. This second batch is a re-production of their first original Cold IPA. The beer uses four carefully selected hop varieties with a green, fresh aroma, and it was designed to be approachable even for people who usually do not drink much beer. The can label features illustrations of the two creators, framed in a traditional oval relief style, while the back shows the summer Yura River and the mountains of Fukuchiyama.

The other beer in the set, BANK IPA, is CRAFT BANK’s flagship West Coast IPA. It is described as fruity, well balanced, and crisp, with a refreshing bitterness. CRAFT BANK operates in Fukuchiyama, Kyoto, in a former bank building that has been repurposed into a brewery and restaurant. That background gives the release a clear sense of place: the set is not only a comparison between an original beer and a house standard, but also a small showcase of what the brewery is about.
