Ose Tanabata Coast Ale was introduced by Hitachi Beer Brewery on July 7. The brewery describes it as an American-style starry wheat ale, brewed to be refreshing in summer and colored a pale blue with botanical butterfly pea, with orange added to the presentation.

The beer draws on a local Tanabata legend from Ose Coast in Hitachi, Ibaraki. In the brewery's 'Ose Tanabata Story,' the setting is linked to Tanabata rocks said to be where Orihime and Hikoboshi first met. The concept ties local folklore, place names, and visual design directly into the beer.

Hitachi Beer Brewery opened in June 2024 as Hitachi City's first microbrewery, inside Second Earth Diner Hitachi Main Store in Bentencho. The open, glass-fronted brewhouse lets guests watch the brewing process, and the facility has an annual capacity of 15,000 liters. The brewery's lineup already includes beers inspired by local scenes such as sakura, sunrise, and moonlight, and this release continues that regional approach.
