Hitachi Beer Brewery, a craft brewery based in Hitachi, Ibaraki, has announced a new product called “Wajo.” A visual posted to the brewery’s official Instagram on September 21, 2026, presents the beer as part of the “HITACHI BEER CRAFT SERIES” and describes it as a premium-quality product.

The announcement does not yet disclose the beer’s style, alcohol content, ingredients, price, or release date. The label also features the logo of Bishudo, a retailer specializing in sake and other alcoholic beverages. Whether the product will be sold through Bishudo or distributed in another format remains to be confirmed in a future announcement.

Hitachi Beer Brewery operates in Bentencho, Hitachi City. Its brewery is located within a dining venue, allowing visitors to enjoy freshly brewed beer close to the brewing equipment. The brewery has developed beers inspired by local landscapes and seasons, including Sakura Hitachi Ale, Kawarago Sunrise, and Kuji-hama Moonlight.

The brewery also aims to connect local food businesses and the character of Hitachi with original craft beer. Beer fans will be watching for further information on Wajo’s recipe, flavor profile, and availability, as the new release could add another locally rooted beer to Hitachi’s growing lineup.
