Sakaduki Lab in Kita-Senju, Adachi, Tokyo, is running an "Obon Summer Festival Week" from Wednesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 16. The shop also announced a 5:00 p.m. opening on Thursday, August 13, framing the event as an indoor summer-festival experience.

Flowing somen is the centerpiece

The main feature is flowing somen noodles. Customers who order the dipping broth can eat as much somen as they like. The broth lineup is varied: a light broth with ume and steamed chicken, a hot red chicken curry-style broth with chicken drumettes, a classic katsuodashi-and-pork broth with chilled shabu-shabu, plus a beef broth with a Vietnamese twist and a hiyajiru-style broth with grilled mackerel. The selection mixes familiar Japanese flavors with a few playful variations.

Beer and festival food

For beer, the bar is serving bottle Akaboshi chilled in buckets, and even the glasses are being frozen before serving. The food side leans into matsuri mood as well, with items such as ika-yaki made with squid legs and watermelon on the menu. The post also mentions a raffle with tote bags and fans, with prizes already running low.

Sakaduki Lab is a Kita-Senju spot known for pairing drinks with food, including sake and craft beer. This event follows that same approach: it is not just about drinking, but about giving guests a seasonal food-and-drink experience that feels close to a summer festival.
