CRAFT BEER BASE leaf, on the 2nd floor of Grand Green Osaka North Building in Osaka, has released its tap list for May 29. In addition to its original house beers, the lineup also includes guest beers from Brasserie Knot, Hop Kotan Brewing, and NORTH ISLAND BEER, making it a setup you can enjoy alongside food.
The beer pub CRAFT BEER BASE leaf, located on the 2nd floor of Grand Green Osaka North Building in Osaka, has announced its tap list for May 29. Business hours are 11:00 to 23:00, with last orders for food and drinks at 22:00. True to a brewery-operated venue, the lineup is notable for being built with beer-and-food pairings in mind.
The day’s original beers span a wide range, from the citrus-leaning `Ikeda Mikan Wit` to the staples `BLONDE` and `PALE ALE`, plus `LAVENDER & CHAMOMILE` made with lavender and chamomile, `MIX JUICY 014`, `Red Ale`, the new `Belgian IPA (new!!)`, the spice-blend `Wu-Xiang Red Ale`, and `Robust Porter`. One highlight is the broad flavor range, from hops and herbs to spices and roast character.
The guest lineup features two beers from Brasserie Knot: `MOON` and `FLOWER`; `Umemi-gachi` and `MISTY WAY` from Hop Kotan Brewing; and `CORIANDER BLACK` from NORTH ISLAND BEER. With a Double IPA, Belgian wit, a saison made with plum, a hazy IPA, and a stout with coriander, it is a lineup that makes you want to try them both with food and on their own.
Leaf’s appeal lies in offering both draft beer and bottles while making it easy to enjoy pairings with food. Even though it is inside a commercial facility near the station, it is a place where the individuality of the taps really carries the drinking experience, making it an easy first stop for a drink in Umeda. On this day, Hokkaido’s local dish `chanchan-yaki` was also featured, so this is a place where you will want to move back and forth between beer and food.
