Honey Forest Brewing Unveils Lemon Beer at Its 5th Anniversary Event
Honey Forest Brewing in Minamiosumi Town, Kagoshima, will hold its 5th anniversary event on May 3. The commemorative brew, Our Fruits ALE Lemon, made with homegrown Meyer lemons, will be unveiled for the first time, alongside stalls featuring local ingredients.
A day to mark the 5th anniversary
Honey Forest Brewing, based in Minamiosumi Town, Kagoshima Prefecture, will hold an event to celebrate its 5th anniversary on Sunday, May 3, from 12:00 to 19:00. The venue will be the brewery itself, and it is being presented as a special day filled with gratitude for everything that has come before.
New release features Meyer lemon beer
On the day, a new commemorative beer, Our Fruits ALE Lemon, will make its debut. The beer uses homegrown Meyer lemons that have been cultivated since five years ago as an adjunct ingredient, creating a glass that combines the fresh aroma of lemon, a gentle acidity, and the mellow sweetness of honey. Honey Forest Brewing has continued making beer that makes use of fruits from Minamiosumi Town and domestically produced honey, and this commemorative brew is a continuation of that approach.
Local flavors will gather too
Participating stalls at the venue will include Okaeri Ichiba, Tom's Smoke, Uchu Bakery, and Hanaze Winery. The lineup will feature charcoal-grilled meats, smoked cheese, bread, wine, and more, all meant to be enjoyed alongside the beer. Set in Minamiosumi Town, surrounded by greenery and the sea, the event looks set to be a milestone celebration true to a brewery that has valued local ingredients.
Honey Forest Brewing is a craft beer workshop run by a female brewer in Minamiosumi Town, the southernmost town on the Japanese mainland. Its standard Sun Sun ALE also combines local citrus and honey, and this event will also offer a chance to learn about the background behind that brewing philosophy.
