Guest Beer

At Hastamañana, a beer pub in Okazaki, Aichi, the Tokyo brewery Inkhorn Brewing is featuring Silvereye. It is the kind of guest beer that fits a taproom setting well: aromatic, hop-forward, and easy to talk about at the bar.

Silvereye is a Hazy IPA / 6.5% ABV brewed with Citra, Galaxy, Citra LUPOMAX, and Nelson Sauvin. According to the brewer’s note, the beer leans into a hazy, fuller-looking profile while keeping the body lighter than it appears. Its flavor is said to show peach, passion fruit, and grapefruit, with bitterness that stays in balance as the beer warms up.

The note also explains the hop choice as a nod to the bird that inspired the beer’s name, using Southern Hemisphere hops alongside Citra. The result is presented as a well-balanced release that should appeal to both hop aroma fans and drinkers looking for a satisfying guest IPA.

With Silvereye described as a long-awaited release, Hastamañana adds another beer worth checking for anyone looking for guest taps in Okazaki.
