At HOP MAN, a beer pub in Jōmanka, Chigasaki City, Kanagawa, Ise Kadoya Beer’s Mr.DANK has been newly tapped. This beer is presented not as one that pushes hop intensity to the front, but as a DDH West Coast IPA that achieves easy drinkability through balance.

The hop bill centers on Strata, Citra, and Mosaic. Tropical notes and a subtle diesel-like character from Strata are layered with the berry notes and bright citrus of Citra and Mosaic, aiming for a profile with plenty of depth that never becomes too heavy. In addition, Incognito, which had previously been added directly to the fermentation tank, has been reassigned to use in the whirlpool, and water treatment adjustments have also been made to improve aromatic lift and a cleaner finish.

Visually, it pours a light gold and clear. The aroma is distinctly dank, yet the sip is dry and finishes crisp, making it the kind of beer that goes down more easily than its name might suggest. At a beer pub like HOP MAN, this is the kind of tap release you want when you want to take your time and appreciate the character of a guest beer.
