Project details

Oyoroko Brewery, based in Mizuho Ward, Nagoya, has started a crowdfunding campaign built around tomatoes grown at Poka Poka Works, a disability employment support facility. The brewery is producing a limited-release beer called 'En - Tomato & Jasmine Ale,' described as a special brew that combines the gentle acidity of tomato with the floral aroma of jasmine.

As part of the project, 15% of the funds raised will be returned to Poka Poka Works to support better crop production and improvements to the work environment. The idea is not just to make and sell beer, but to connect beer production with jobs, local resources, and a wider social cycle.

About Oyoroko Brewery

Oyoroko Brewery is run by Bride to Be, a company that operates wedding venues. From Nagoya, it has been creating beers for a wide range of 'celebration moments' in everyday life.

On its official site, the brewery highlights four core styles: pale ale, pilsner, weizen, and double IPA. It also emphasizes food pairing and the different ways beer can fit into a meal or a special occasion. That background shows up clearly in this new project, which is designed as more than just a seasonal release.

With this campaign, Oyoroko Brewery is again trying to turn craft beer into something that supports both people and place. 'En' is a good example of that approach.
