April 16 Drafts

Craft Beer Spot Hathor, a beer pub in Kyobashi, Osaka, has revealed its draft lineup for April 16. With 16 taps in mind, the day’s selection is notable for its wide range of styles, from lagers to IPAs and dark beers. Since the shop also offers house-smoked foods, the lineup is easy to approach with both the beer’s character and food pairings in mind.

The beer to watch that day is Revision’s "What What What." A limited release based on the popular "What What Double IPA," it is described as a beer that does not feel like its 11.2% ABV, despite using Strata, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops. Aromas reminiscent of grapefruit, green grass, and pine are layered over a dense fruitiness and grassy nuance, positioning it as a highly distinctive triple IPA with a lingering bitterness.

Looking at the overall draft list, the taps include Black Label, Ise Kadoya Brewery’s West Coast Pilsner, Mugi no Manimani, Hat Trick TDH Hazy IPA, Pale Ale, Oni Densetsu Beer’s Yuya Boys IPL - Jamboree SP Ver, Onikaku TY Imperial Red Ale, Kuro Oni Stout Kato SP Ver. Mk2, Minoh Beer’s SEYA!, Blooming IPA, and Session Black IPA Real Ale ver. It is an easy lineup to build a flow around, starting light with a lager, moving into hop-forward IPAs, and finishing with dark styles.

Because the day offers such a clear range of styles, it is a good opportunity for a tasting comparison. Whether you are looking for your first drink in Kyobashi or chasing a limited IPA, it is a date worth checking out.
