DD4D BREWING started as a select shop in Matsuyama in 1998, added an in-house brewery in 2019, and opened a second plant in Mitsuhama in 2021. The brewery has released more than 350 beers and has consistently worked across boundaries, including sports, apparel, film, and other collaborations.

The new release highlighted on Instagram is Sakura Islands (Wood-Aged Rice Lager). It is one of the anniversary beers created for the smartphone game Azur Lane, inspired by the character Owari. The beer is brewed with rice in addition to malt, giving it a clean finish with layered notes of citrusy and herbal hops, a smoky cherry-wood-like aroma, and a gentle rice-derived sweetness.

The specs are straightforward: 5.0% ABV and 25 IBU. The recipe uses Cashmere and East Kent Goldings hops, along with PILSEN and Rice malts. DD4D also points drinkers to nearby retailers and its official online store for early availability.

The post also notes DD4D's participation in AZURLANE MUSI9:FES. on September 5-6 at Sankaku Hiroba in the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building. Draft beer, cans, gelato, and collaboration goods such as T-shirts, acrylic keychains, and glasses will be available, with limited sticker bonuses tied to draft and can purchases.
