Yamorido in Kyoto taps 7th-anniversary Juicy IPA "Nanamin"
Yamorido, a brewpub in Kyoto's Fushimi district, has released its 7th-anniversary Juicy IPA, "Nanamin." Brewed with seven hops and Pomona yeast, the limited beer is designed to deliver peach-like aroma and a light, easy-drinking finish.
Yamorido, the Kyoto Fushimi brewpub, has tapped its 7th-anniversary house beer, a Juicy IPA called "Nanamin." The beer comes in at 7.0% ABV and 18 IBU, built on a base of Pilsner, Wheat, and Oats. The hop bill is centered on Peacherine, with Citra CRYO, Motueka, Citra, Mosaic, Riwaka, and Simcoe rounding out the recipe. Pomona yeast is used to lift the hop character and support a bright, fruit-forward profile.
According to the post, the brewery deliberately tied the recipe to the 7th anniversary theme: seven showcase hops and a 7% alcohol target. Peacherine, a New Zealand hop with peach and nectarine notes, leads the dry-hop charge, while Citra CRYO and Riwaka add accents. The brewing-side hop selection leans citrus, aiming for a balanced beer that still drinks smoothly. Yamorido describes the flavor as layered with hop-driven peach, mango, melon, and citrus notes, plus yeast-derived plum and ume-like nuances.
The tap list that day also reflects Yamorido's house-beer lineup. On tap were Chakabuki / Japanese Saison, Chirin / Weizen with kuromoji (Yamorido × NUDE), Tiger Kick / West Coast IPA, Yamori Gold L / Golden Ale, Afternoon Stout / Oatmeal Coffee Stout, Flying Gecko / Amber Ale, and Nanamin / Juicy IPA. A guest beer, GO BARE (Gangi Brewing × NUDE), was also listed, giving drinkers a mix of core house beers and a collaboration pour in one session.
Food pairing was part of the announcement as well: the kitchen recommended a small hamburger with Japanese salsa sauce. In other words, this is a release that fits Yamorido's identity as a machiya-style brewpub where beer and food are meant to be enjoyed together.
