A limited beer for year-end celebrations

Oizumi Gakuen Craft Beer Works in Nerima, Tokyo, is currently brewing a year-end limited beer called “2026 kanpai IPA.” The beer is being made in the brewery attached to the restaurant, with the aim of giving guests a beer suited to celebrating the end of the year together.

The brewery plans to begin serving it in early November. The exact start date will be announced on the brewery’s official website.

A lighter take on IPA

The new beer is a session IPA based on IPA, one of the brewery’s most popular house-brewed styles. Session IPA is designed to be enjoyed over a longer drinking session, combining a lower alcohol level with the aromatic hop character associated with IPA.

“2026 kanpai IPA” has an alcohol content of 3.5% and offers refreshing citrus aromas reminiscent of lemon and lime. Its lighter profile is intended to appeal not only to craft beer enthusiasts but also to guests who do not usually drink craft beer. It should work well as an opening toast or alongside a wide range of dishes.

A brewery next to the restaurant

Oizumi Gakuen Craft Beer Works is located one minute on foot from the north exit of Oizumi-gakuen Station. The restaurant operates alongside its own brewery, allowing guests to enjoy house-brewed beer on site. The approximately 45-seat space also serves around 70 dishes, including pizza, meat dishes, ajillo and pasta.

The limited “2026 kanpai IPA” is also planned for inclusion in the restaurant’s year-end meal-and-drinks package. Guests planning a year-end gathering can look for the official serving announcement and enjoy the beer while supplies last.
