New Product Release

The brewery "Noroshi Brewing," located in Nagareyama Otakanomori, Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture, announced a new product release in an Instagram post on May 5. The new beer is "Brett Kinkan Saison." Sales are limited to select retailers, including Cali Liquor Tokyo in Kanda, Tokyo; Craft Beer 2mugi in Akihabara; Wine F Funabashi in Funabashi, Chiba; Beer O'Clock621 in Chiba City; and beer.yumeyomi in Kyoto City.

The post says that external sales stock from Noroshi Brewing has already sold out, and that a small amount will be sold at future events. For anyone interested, this is a bottle to grab when you happen to see it in stores.

What's Inside the Beer

The specs are Brett Saison, with an alcohol content of 5.5%. The base beer uses the brewery's own "Noroshi Saison," combined with Brettanomyces, sucrose, and house-made kumquat syrup. The aroma layers citrus peel, white flowers, and a subtle funk, and when you take a sip, bright kumquat-derived acidity and a gentle bitterness spread across the dry, light Saison framework.

Another highlight of this beer is the complexity brought by aging and its soft acidity. The finish is sharp, and the fruit and yeast linger quietly and for a long time. Built on the drinkability typical of Saison, but with added depth from Brett, this is a beer for people who prefer clearly defined flavors over flashy ones.
