April 14 Tap Lineup

Hinomoto Brewing & Beer Stand, a brewpub in Honkomagome, Bunkyo Ward, was open on Tuesday, April 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Inside the shop, which is closed on Wednesdays, 10 draft beers centered on Japanese craft beer were on tap.

Leading the lineup that day was `Kohatu Pale Ale` (NZ Pale Ale, 5.5%). It was followed by the limited-quantity `DH Red Ale` (Dry Hopped Red Ale, 5.5%), `Sauvin Belgo Brut` (Dry Hopped Saison, 7%), `Ryusui Soso` (Italian Pilsner, 5.5%), and `Yuzu Sour Saison` (6%), making for a lineup notable for its aromas, acidity, and easy-drinking character. Malt-forward options also included `Komagome Brown` (Brown Saison, 6%), `Komagome Best Bitter` (English Best Bitter, 4.5%), and `Kurotobi #4` (Belgian Stout, 7%).

Among the collaboration beers, `Black IPA a.k.a. Black Sheep Ale` (Black IPA, 7%) and `Belgian Hazy IPA a.k.a. White Sheep Ale` (Belgian Hazy IPA, 6.5%) were on tap through a joint brew with `Sanriku Beer`. The selection ranged widely, from IPA with a clear hop character to stout with roasted notes.

Also, from 7:00 p.m., a talk event by navigation expert Ms. Sawauchi was held. The theme was the nationally designated historic site `Tamagawa Josui`, and it was introduced as a relaxed event where guests could listen while drinking beer. Regular service continued before and after the event, and with the food menu kept light, the shop leaned strongly into being a place to focus on the beer itself.
