Beer House Hobbit, a beer pub in Hirakata, Osaka, added three new draft beers on Saturday, August 15. The bar focuses on rotating Japanese craft beer on tap, and this update brought a seasonal, easy-to-drink lineup.
The headline pour is Kumazawa Brewery’s Fresh Hop IPA, brewed with fresh hops from Yosano in Kyoto. The beer is described as having a gentle green hop aroma and a clean finish that invites another sip. West Coast Brewing’s Chill Pils offers a different angle: a crisp lager with herbal and lemon-like notes, a touch of malt sweetness, stronger carbonation, and a dry finish that makes it an ideal first pint.
For a citrus-forward option, Miyazaki Hideji Beer’s Kyushu Craft Kabosu uses kabosu from Oita Prefecture. The result is a fruit lager with clear citrus aroma and flavor. The tap list for the day also included Shigakogen Brewery’s Shinshu Heion and So no Jyu, giving regulars a chance to compare several domestic craft styles at once.
Food options such as clay-pot rice with black edamame and salmon, and sea bream sauteed with house curry sauce, round out the visit. It is the kind of spot where beer drinkers can settle in and follow the taps at their own pace.
