Extra Hop in Oita Taps “Tottei” and “Makomako” for Early Autumn
craft beer “Extra Hop,” a beer pub in Chuo-machi, Oita City, has tapped Shirosuzume’s seasonal amber ale “Tottei” and Yamorido’s light, fruity IPA “Makomako.” The new pours follow the final keg of the pub’s anniversary beer.
craft beer “Extra Hop,” a beer pub in Chuo-machi, Oita City, has announced two new taps: “Tottei” from Shirosuzume and “Makomako” from Yamorido.
“Tottei” is a seasonal amber ale from Shirosuzume. The pub describes it as a darker beer suited to the time of year when mornings and evenings begin to feel cooler. Its amber color and malt-forward character make it a natural choice for early autumn drinking.
“Makomako” is an IPA from Yamorido built around New Zealand hops, supported by American hops and wheat malt. It is described as light and fruity, offering a bright contrast to the deeper profile of “Tottei.” Tasting the two side by side should provide a clear comparison between malt-driven richness and fresh hop aromatics.
The post also mentions an anniversary IPA from Smog City, Minoh Beer’s “Hakuho,” and an IPA from Falò. These beers were reportedly close to running out at the time of the announcement, so availability may vary.
Extra Hop is located on the first floor of Okuno Hosomichi Building at 2-6-25 Chuo-machi, Oita City, Oita Prefecture. The craft beer pub offers a rotating selection of beers for guests looking for a drink after work. From September, bar service operates from Wednesday through Saturday, with additional changes during the Silver Week holiday period.
