Eguchiya Brewing Introduces Its Craft Beer Story from Kasumigaura
Eguchiya Brewing in Kasumigaura, Ibaraki, has shared a fresh Instagram introduction to the brewery. Located beside a renovated former sake brewery, it creates locally rooted craft beers inspired by the landscape and ingredients of Lake Kasumigaura.
Eguchiya Brewing, based in Kasumigaura, Ibaraki, has posted an Instagram message introducing the brewery with the greeting, “Hello, this is Eguchiya Brewing 🍺.” The post renews attention on the brewery’s community-focused approach to making craft beer.
The brewery operates beside Kominka Eguchiya, a guesthouse on the shores of Lake Kasumigaura. The brewing space was created by renovating a former sake brewery housed in a building dating from the Meiji era. Eguchiya Brewing began in 2023, carrying forward the site’s long connection with local alcohol production while creating modern craft beer.
Its lineup includes Sawano Fuji, which revives the label of a sake once produced at the historic brewery, as well as Kasumigaura Yuzu Ale, Kasumigaura Coffee Stout, Kasumigaura Blueberry Ale, Kasumigaura Hazy IPA, Kasumigaura Strawberry Ale and Kasumigaura Lager. The range spans refreshing fruit-inflected beers, rich stout and hop-forward styles.
The brewery’s location within a guesthouse gives visitors an opportunity to enjoy its beers alongside the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house and local food. Product availability and the latest updates are available through Eguchiya Brewing’s official online store.
