Beer Pub Ishii starts four Japanese craft beers, AYAYA set for Aug. 10-11
Beer Pub Ishii in Sendagi updated its tap list on Aug. 1 with four starters, including Ushitora Brewing's "Sanjuku" and Let's Beer Works' "1759-Stout-". The pub also announced a guest kitchen run by Izakaya AYAYA on Aug. 10-11.
Beer Pub Ishii is a compact beer pub on Yomise-dori in Sendagi, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. Its official site says the bar runs four taps in total, with three rotating daily and one permanent tap serving Kirin Heartland Lager. It is set up as an easy place to drink Japanese craft beer without overcomplication.
In the Instagram post dated Aug. 1, the tap list started with these four beers:
- Sanjuku / Ushitora Brewing
- 1759-Stout- / Let’s Beer Works
- Kinoni Pale Ale / Onidensetsu Beer
- Yokohama XPA / Sankt Gallen
The lineup moves across clear flavor lanes: a stout in 1759-Stout-, a pale ale in Kinoni Pale Ale, an XPA in Yokohama XPA, and Sanjuku as the opening pour. It is the kind of list that works whether you want something roasty and dark or something brighter and hop-forward.
The post also listed kegs waiting to be tapped: ONE LAP BEHIND yuzu-nashi ver. from Hopkotan Brewing, Natsuakatsuki from North Island, SHIGA KOGEN IPA 2.03 Center of the Universe from Shiga Kogen Beer, and Kikuzaka Brown Ale from Kanpai! Brewing. On top of that, Izakaya AYAYA was announced for Aug. 10-11, which suggests a setup where beer and food are meant to be enjoyed together.
For anyone drinking around Sendagi and Yanaka, it is a place worth checking when you want to see what is on the taps that day.
