A New Collaboration Connecting Coffee and Beer

DD4D BREWING in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, will release collaboration beers with the Fukuoka-based coffee shop NO COFFEE on May 9. Two varieties will debut this time: the featured "NO BEER (Eno-kun Ver.)" and "NO BEER (Shiofi-chan Ver.)".

DD4D BREWING was reborn as a brand with its own brewery in 2019, building on a select shop that began in Matsuyama in 1998. In 2021, a new factory also started operations, and the brewery has been sending out a wide range of beers from Matsuyama ever since. Its repeated cross-industry collaborations, including those with apparel and sports, are also characteristic of the brewery.

NO BEER (Eno-kun Ver.)

This beer is a Coffee Sour Ale. Its alcohol content is 5.0%, and its IBU is 5. The ingredients are malt, coffee beans, and hops, with East Kent Goldings used for hops and Maris Otter and Caraaroma used for malts. Designed as a sour ale accented with lightly roasted beans, it combines coffee aroma, moderate lactic acidity, and the soft flavor of malt.

The Other Beer Uses Setouchi Lemon in an IPA

The simultaneously released "Shiofi-chan Ver." is a Ginger Lemon West Coast IPA. Combining lemon and ginger, it provides the other side of the collaboration. The project as a whole brings together NO COFFEE's worldview of "Life with good coffee" and expresses it from the beer side.

Sales will be available through the DD4D BREWING official online store, the DD4D BREWING & CLOTHING STORE, retail locations nationwide, and on-site draft service at NO COFFEE TENJIN PARK. Cans are 350 ml for 900 yen (tax included), and kegs are 15 L. It looks like a pairing that will appeal to both coffee fans and sour ale fans.
