Annual White Beer Event for Golden Week
Suginoya Beer Workshop in Nishi Ward, Fukuoka City will hold its "White Beer Festival" during the 2026 Golden Week holiday. The event runs for five days, from Saturday, May 2 to Wednesday, May 6. It is a seasonal event unique to Suginoya, centered on its summer-limited white beer.
White beer is known for its fruity aroma reminiscent of bananas and its smooth, wheat-derived flavor, and is presented as the company’s No. 1 most popular beer. With its light character and soft mouthfeel, it is the kind of drink that feels especially appealing as the weather turns hotter.
This year’s highlight is the chance to enjoy freshly poured draft beer at the recently fully opened "Sakagura Garten". Food items such as sake brewery pizza, fried chicken, and amazake soft serve ice cream will also be available, making it a comfortable outing for families. In addition, a direct bus service from near Kyudai-Gakkentoshi Station to Suginoya is planned, making access easier as well.
Suginoya Beer Workshop has a long history as a brewery rooted in Fukuoka’s sake brewery culture. According to its official website, beer brewing began in the summer of 1996, when it obtained the first manufacturing license in Fukuoka Prefecture. Carrying on the context of a sake brewery while broadening the enjoyment of beer and fermentation, this is a fitting event for the company.
For anyone who wants to taste a seasonal white beer on site during Golden Week, this is an event worth checking out, together with the draft beer at Sakagura Garten.
