At the beer pub “Fujisawa Beer Shokudo Beer Maison” near the south exit of Fujisawa Station, the April-only “Kyushu Craft Beer Fair” has begun. An official post introduced a lineup focused on breweries in Kyushu, available from 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

The in-house beer list features the regulars “Asahi Draft Beer Maruef” and “Pilsner Urquell,” plus Kyushu selections: `Warau` and `Musubu` from `NOVORU Brewing`, and `Yuzu-Gosho Ale` from `Island Brewery`. Also visible is `Onmenburoi` from `Baeren Brewery`, making it a six-tap lineup for side-by-side tasting.

`Warau` is a Coast IPA with prominent aroma from Mosaic and Citra hops. `Musubu` is a beer that combines the easy-drinking character of a Belgian Blonde with NOVORU's unique personality. `Yuzu-Gosho Ale` is a yuzu kosho ale made with green yuzu and chili peppers, and seems well suited as a beer to pair with food. Pilsner Urquell is presented in two serving styles, sharp pour and mild pour, so there is also the pleasure of comparing how the pouring method changes the beer.

Beer Maison is characterized by an open, airy space inspired by the sea, forest, and starry sky of Fujisawa. Since it also offers creative Western dishes from a chef with hotel experience, it is a place well suited to spending a leisurely day centered on craft beer.
