Tap Notes

KEG-NAGOYA, a beer pub in Higashi Ward, Nagoya, keeps 13 draft beers on tap and pairs them with house-made Chinese dishes. Its regular tap updates are part of the appeal.

The July 28 post featured Repubrew's AGE AGE SAME AGE, a Czech-style dark lager at 5% ABV. The post says it was brewed by 20 brewers from the 1991-1992 generation as an anniversary beer, with a recipe that burns cedar casks into the beer for aroma, color, and flavor. It pours deep black, but the body stays light, with roast, smoke, woody notes, and a subtle cocoa-like finish.

The post also mentions a newly connected beer from Swan Lake Beer: Crystal Ale. Together, the two beers offer a clear contrast between a roasty dark lager and a lighter, refreshing option. That range fits KEG-NAGOYA well, where craft beer and food are meant to be matched in a lively pub setting.
