The beer pub "MOONRISE KINGDOM" in Nishi-Shinjuku announced its Friday, May 22 dinner opening and introduced a new tap from Nara Brewing.

Newly Connected Beer

The new tap for the day was Nara brewing / KIP -HOPPY PILSNER- / ABV 5.5%. In the post, it is described as a refreshing, light pilsner with a clear golden color, lime and lemon aromas from Motueka hops, and a fresh grassy note reminiscent of wet-hopped beer. It pairs well with IPA and clean lagers, and is finished in a way that makes it easy to keep drinking.

How It Pairs with Food

The post highlights the shop's staples: Carnitas Tacos and Steak Tacos. The slow-braised pork carnitas and the domestic beef steak tacos served with a house BBQ sauce are both well suited to a pilsner with lively hop aroma. Other menu items include Special Fish Tacos, BBQ Steak Burrito, Chicken Quesadilla, and Aglio e Olio with Shirasu and Early Summer Vegetables, making it easy to build a full meal.

The Atmosphere

The post also introduced a scene where an Australian beer lover and an Irish couple returned, enjoying beer and food regardless of nationality or age. MOONRISE KINGDOM comes across as a place open to both travelers and local customers, serving drinks centered on craft beer and tacos in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

In addition to 3 domestic taps, the shop also offers 30 domestic and international craft beer bottles. It is a spot well suited to a day when you want to try a new tap and drink alongside food.
