Beer O'clock taps Moriyamaen's Tekikaka Cider Lager, pours Isekadoya barrel-aged stout
Beer O'clock, a beer pub in Chiba City’s Fujimi area, has updated its guest tap and large-bottle-by-the-glass lineup. The new pours are Moriyamaen’s cider-based lager and Isekadoya Beer’s bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout, alongside a summer cold pasta special.
At Beer O'clock in Chiba’s Fujimi district, the pub is running straight through from 12:00 to 22:30, making it an easy stop from daytime into the evening.
The new tap is Moriyamaen’s `Tekikaka Cider Lager`. According to the post, it is brewed with thinned apple juice plus mature juice from the early-ripening `Miki Life` and late-ripening `Oorin` apples, then fermented with lager yeast. The beer is described as having a bright, grapefruit-like, pleasantly bitter finish, which should appeal to drinkers looking for a crisp fruit-driven option.
By the glass in large bottles, Beer O'clock is also pouring Isekadoya Beer’s `Bourbon Barrel Aged Shadowplay`. It is presented as a BBA Imperial Stout with depth and weight, and the post notes a coffee-forward layer shaped with guidance from barista Ippei Nishio of Direct Coffee and cold-brew extraction using Geisha beans from MAME. That combination points to a beer where barrel character, roast, and coffee aromatics can all be tracked in the glass.
On the food side, the weekly pasta has switched to a chilled spaghetti with gazpacho and carpaccio. The dish uses tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, fresh fish of the day, and a cabbage-and-corn coleslaw, making it a fitting summer plate that should work well with both the lively cider lager and the fuller-bodied stout.
The post also announces the return of Crisp! (formerly Aji na Fry-ya) on Sunday, August 2 at 15:00. For beer fans in the Chiba Station area, it is a solid stop for tracking new guest pours alongside the kitchen’s seasonal update.
