A seasonal pale ale built around fresh local hops

Beto Coco Brewing has released FRESH HOP PALE ALE 2026, a seasonal Fresh Hop Pale Ale brewed with 100% fresh hops harvested at Hayakawa Farm in Oi, Fukui. By using the hops soon after harvest, the Awara-based brewery highlights the vivid, delicate character that distinguishes fresh-hop beer from versions made with traditionally dried hops.

The beer is described as having fresh, vibrant aromatics reminiscent of early-picked citrus. Its bitterness is clean and mellow, suggesting a balanced profile that allows the hop aroma to remain central without making the beer feel overly heavy. The result is a refreshing expression of the harvest season and the character of locally grown Fukui hops.

FRESH HOP PALE ALE 2026 is brewed with pale ale malt and three hop varieties: Chinook, Cascade, and Crystal. It has an ABV of 5.0%. Together, the hop blend and fresh-harvest ingredient create a layered aroma while keeping the overall impression bright and approachable.

The beer was released in cans on September 10, 2026. For Beto Coco Brewing, which is based in Awara, the release also brings the appeal of Fukui-grown agricultural ingredients into a beer designed for a limited seasonal window. Drinkers interested in fresh-hop brewing will want to enjoy it while its lively, just-picked character is at its most expressive.
