Yorocco Beer, based in Kamakura, has released two collaboration beers with Nara Brewing. On Yorocco's side is "YIN," a Belgian Dubbel brewed with wine yeast and Yonaguni island brown sugar molasses. On Nara's side is "YANG," a Märzen-style Rauchbier that leans on plenty of smoked malt, designed as the counterpart to YIN.

A key point of this release is the cross-collaboration format: each brewery brewed one beer at its own facility. For YIN, the usual candy sugar in a Dubbel was replaced with brown sugar, creating a beer described as having apple-like fruit notes and a soft cocoa-like depth. It is also presented as a smooth-drinking dark beer, making it a release worth enjoying alongside YANG, including the label design.

Yorocco Beer is a local brewery rooted in Kamakura, Kanagawa. Known for making beers that reflect the character of the place, it brings that sensibility into YIN as well, with a clear experimental edge woven in naturally. Tasting YIN together with the paired YANG makes the concept behind the collaboration much easier to appreciate.
